**What is Isshuryu (One-Stroke Dragon)?**As the name suggests, the body of the dragon is drawn with a single, continuous brushstroke without any breaks. This technique embodies the prayers and wishes that "development and financial fortune never cease," "good matches and growth continue to connect people," and "protection and safety are maintained perpetually." For approximately 400 years since the Edo period (1603–), these dragons have been revered and passed down as powerful symbols of the Dragon God's protection and blessings.*The symbol of Kyoto Isshuryu's protection/blessing is the body drawn in one stroke without interruption.*

**Kyoto Isshuryu Artist: Keisuke Teshima**Fascinated by dragons since childhood, Teshima has continued to draw them throughout his life. Influenced by the spirit of Japanese "Do" (the Way) through 14 years of Karate practice starting at age six, he encountered the traditional "Isshuryu" technique. Deeply moved by its history and origins, he felt it was his calling and taught himself the technique. While preserving the traditions of Isshuryu dating back to the Edo period, he pursues the art of the dragon through the spirit of "Shuhari" (obey, detach, transcend). He is one of only three Isshuryu artists said to exist in Japan. Originally from Fukuoka Prefecture, a series of coincidences and fateful connections led him to establish his studio in Higashiyama, Kyoto—the 1,000-year-old capital where the Dragon God is said to dwell.
**Kyoto: The Capital Where the Dragon God Dwells**For over 1,000 years, Kyoto has been regarded as a place of power where the Dragon God resides in "dragon holes" (Ryuketsu) and "dragon veins" (Ryumyaku). Numerous shrines and temples dedicated to dragons exist here, and pilgrimages to honor the Dragon God remain popular to this day.
**Dragons in Japan (Dragon God Worship)**Since ancient times, Japan has been considered a mystical land inhabited by dragons, where they are viewed as messengers of the gods or as deities themselves. They are worshipped in many shrines, temples, myths, and legends as symbols of "prosperity" and "protection."
**Popular for Personal Use and as Gifts for Various Occasions:*** **Business/Home:** Moving, promotions, presidential inaugurations, grand openings, anniversaries, relocations, clinic openings, company founding, new construction, independence, business prosperity, career success.* **Family/Children:** Childbirth, shrine visits (Omiyamairi), first meals (Oshikuzome), first festivals, prayers for safe delivery, fertility.* **Education/Growth:** School entrance, Shichi-Go-San, Doll’s Festival, Children’s Day, graduation, coming-of-age ceremonies, academic success, passing exams.* **Success:** Sports tournaments, matches, auditions, prayers for victory.* **Health/Longevity:** Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Respect for the Aged Day, 60th/70th/77th/80th/88th/90th birthdays, longevity, health, recovery from illness.* **Relationships:** Wedding anniversaries, golden anniversaries, marital harmony.* **Special Days:** New Year’s, Setsubun, birthdays, Tensha-nichi (Heavenly Forgiveness Day), Ichiryu Manbai-bi (One Seed, Ten Thousand-Fold Day), Taian (Lucky Day).* **Protection:** Warding off evil, dispelling epidemics, traffic safety.
**Regarding the Blessings of Original vs. High-Definition Reproductions***From Kyoto Isshuryu Artist, Keisuke Teshima:*"It is my belief that there is no difference in the protection or blessings received from my original works versus the high-definition reproductions used in various products, as I pour my prayers into every item. The products available on this site are created under my thorough scrutiny and supervision to ensure they achieve the same level of detail and precision as the original paintings. The production process involves using the actual full-scale original paintings I created specifically for these items, which are then converted into high-precision digital data and finished using specialized printing and processing techniques with total devotion. I hope this provides peace of mind as you consider your purchase."
