**About the Artist: Keisuke Teshima, Creator of Kyoto Ichipitsu Ryu**Since childhood, he has been fascinated by dragons and has continuously drawn dragon images.Having studied the spirit of Japanese martial arts through 14 years of karate starting at age 6, he encountered the traditional *Ichipitsu Ryu* and was deeply impressed by its technique and history, feeling it was his destiny.He learned the technique through self-study, respecting the tradition that has continued since the Edo period, and pursues dragons with the spirit of *Shuhari* (learning, detachment, mastery).
He is one of only three *Ichipitsu Ryu* artists believed to exist in Japan.Originally from Fukuoka Prefecture, he was guided by various fortunate and inevitable encounters to establish his atelier in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto—an ancient city where dragons are believed to dwell, and which has a history of over 1,000 years.
