**About the Artist / Hand-Drawn Kyoto Ichipitsu Ryu by Keisuke Teshima**Since childhood, fascinated by dragons, he has continued to draw dragon images.Having learned the spirit of Japanese martial arts through 14 years of karate from age 6, he was deeply influenced by the traditional "Ichipitsu Ryu" technique, which he encountered and was profoundly impressed by its history and method. Believing it to be his destiny, he mastered the technique through self-study.He preserves the tradition of the Ichipitsu Ryu dating back to the Edo period, pursuing the art with the spirit of "Shuhari" (learning, detaching, and transcending).He is one of only three known Ichipitsu Ryu artists in Japan.Originally from Fukuoka Prefecture, he was guided by various fortunate and inevitable encounters to establish his atelier in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto—an ancient city believed to be inhabited by dragon deities for over 1,000 years.
