【Kyoto Ippitsu Ryu Artist / Keisuke Teshima】Drawn to dragons since childhood, he has continued to create dragon art. Influenced by 14 years of karate, which taught him the spirit of Japanese martial arts, he encountered the traditional 'Ippitsu Ryu' and was deeply impressed by its technique and history, feeling it was his destiny. He learned the technique through self-study. While preserving the tradition of the Ippitsu Ryu dating back to the Edo period, he pursues the art with the spirit of 'Shuhari' (learning, detachment, mastery).
He is one of only three Ippitsu Ryu artists believed to exist in Japan. Originally from Fukuoka Prefecture, through various coincidences and inevitable encounters, he was guided to establish his atelier in Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto—the ancient capital where dragons are believed to dwell.
