**[Kyoto Ippitsu Ryu Artist / Keisuke Teshima]**Fascinated by dragons since childhood, he has continued to draw dragon images. Influenced by 14 years of practicing karate from age 6, where he learned the spirit of Japanese martial arts, he encountered the traditional 'Ippitsu Ryu' and was deeply impressed by its technique and history. Believing it to be his destiny, he mastered the technique through self-study. He preserves the tradition of the Ippitsu Ryu from the Edo period, pursuing it with the spirit of 'Shuhari' (learning, detachment, mastery). He is one of only three Ippitsu Ryu artists in Japan. Originally from Fukuoka Prefecture, he now resides in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto, where his atelier is located, seemingly guided by the dragon gods that dwell in the ancient capital.
**[Kyoto: The City of Dragon Gods]**Kyoto has been considered a place with over 1,000 years of power from dragon holes and dragon veins, with numerous shrines and temples associated with dragons. Since ancient times, it has been a popular pilgrimage site for worshiping the dragon gods.
**[Dragon (Ryujin) Belief in Japan]**Japan has long been regarded as a mysterious land inhabited by dragons, with dragons considered messengers of the gods or even divine beings themselves. Many shrines, temples, myths, and legends worship the dragon gods, symbolizing prosperity and protection.
