■Product Name: TCB Jeans S40's Jacket■Material: 100% Cotton■Country of Origin: Japan
This is the TCB Jeans S40's Jacket. It is based on a denim jacket produced as a wartime model during the 1940s, during World War II.At that time in America, resource control was implemented, and various items were simplified as mandatory. The "S" in S40's Jacket stands for "Simplified."
In 2012, when we produced 50's Jeans, we wondered who would buy jeans made by the unknown TCB, but we are grateful that TCB has received such requests. At that time, we felt a strong attraction to vintage models like the 506XX and 507XX, which are highly finished. However, as we reproduced various models including those from the two L companies, we became more strongly attracted to the charm and historical background embedded in the imperfection of the Simplified models than we had been before.Due to this change in perspective, we are finally releasing this model with full confidence. The fabric is a 14 oz denim made with a new code "TCB WW2," specifically for the S40's model. This is a custom fabric for the S40's.

The fabric for the wartime model is made from yarns unraveled from vintage garments, analyzed at the fiber level, and is 14 oz.It is woven with a blend of three types of American cotton from Eastern Memphis, New Orleans, and Texas, creating a fabric with a natural irregularity. To reproduce the firmness of the wartime fabric as felt by Inoue when he touched it again, it is spun with high-twist nepp yarns and cotton leaf debris.Today, cotton varieties have been improved for higher whiteness, and high whiteness is often equated with better cotton, but this fabric uses a blend of cotton that reproduces the creamy, dull color of the original wartime fabric. It is made from TCB's original fabric in deep indigo and pink selvage colors, without any sulfurization or additives.
The vintage items owned by TCB feature rare pleats with misaligned heights. From a production perspective, markings were made on where to sew the pleats, and it is believed that the person sewing on the left side sewed above the mark, while the person on the right side sewed below.Whether true or not, it indicates that these items passed inspection without being rejected. The background of these details reflects the wartime context, such as new standards from the Resource Control Bureau and Price Control Bureau, and changes in personnel during the war.**Excerpt from TCB Jeans website**
Sizes 40 and above feature a T-back design. In vintage, this design appears from around sizes 44 and 46.It is a design made for larger body types. All details are carefully reproduced.
At TCB, we value each vintage piece we encounter and reproduce accordingly.Even the stitch misalignment on the stitching line is true to vintage.
The label is positioned about halfway higher than usual compared to standard pismen labels. It is not because of the presence or absence of a flap that it appears higher; it is actually positioned higher.
Typically, the stitching would be at the seam where the sleeve fabric joins the armhole, but in this jacket, it is about 3 cm away from that point, in a rougher position.
Since Japanese manufacturers generally do not produce pre-made products with rust-prone materials, the buttons are custom-made from bare iron (unfinished). They will rust naturally over time, just like vintage buttons, as the denim fades.During the wartime, due to resource restrictions, materials like copper and nickel could not be used for buttons and rivets, which is why these specifications are used.**Excerpt from TCB Jeans website**
The jacket is constructed with extensive use of chain stitching. The armholes are sewn with chain stitches, which are difficult and considered a key point in the manufacturing process. The neatness on the reverse side is characteristic of chain stitching. The sewing follows vintage standards.
The inside of the placket uses selvage fabric. This also follows vintage construction.
The leather patch is made of deer leather. It features a "Country CAT" label. It has a good vintage feel.
Compared to the traditional 50's Jacket, the armholes are slightly more relaxed, and the overall length is somewhat shorter. It has a more vintage-like fit than previous TCB models.**Excerpt from TCB Jeans website**
