**About the Artist: Keisuke Teshima**From childhood, fascinated by dragons, he has continued to draw dragon images. Influenced by 14 years of karate from age 6, where he learned the spirit of Japanese martial arts, he encountered the traditional 'One-Stroke Dragon' and was deeply impressed by its technique and history, feeling it was his destiny. He mastered the technique through self-study. While preserving the tradition passed down since the Edo period, he pursues dragons with the spirit of 'Shuhari' (learning, detachment, mastery). He is one of only three known 'One-Stroke Dragon' artists in Japan. Originally from Fukuoka Prefecture, he now resides in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto, where his atelier is located—guided by fortunate and inevitable encounters, as if led by the dragon gods themselves.
**Kyoto—The City of Dragon Gods**Kyoto has been considered a place with over 1,000 years of power from dragon veins and dragon holes. Many shrines and temples associated with dragons exist, and pilgrimages to honor the dragon gods have been actively practiced from ancient times to the present.
**Dragon (Ryujin) Belief in Japan**Japan has long been regarded as a mysterious land inhabited by dragons, considered divine messengers or manifestations of the gods themselves. Many shrines, temples, myths, and legends worship the dragon gods, symbolizing prosperity and protection.
