He learned the technique through self-study.He preserves the tradition of the Ippitsu Ryu, which has been passed down since the Edo period, pursuing it with the spirit of "Shuhari" (learning, detachment, mastery). He is one of only three Ippitsu Ryu artists believed to exist in Japan.Originally from Fukuoka Prefecture, he was guided by various fortunate and inevitable encounters to establish his atelier in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto, a city with a 1,000-year history where dragons are believed to dwell.
**【Kyoto — The City of Dragons】**Kyoto has been regarded for over 1,000 years as a place imbued with the power of dragon veins and dragon holes.
