He learned the technique through self-study.While preserving the tradition of the Ippitsu Ryu dating back to the Edo period, he pursues the art with the spirit of "Shuhari" (learning, detachment, mastery).He is considered one of only three Ippitsu Ryu artists in Japan.Originally from Fukuoka Prefecture, he was guided by fortunate and inevitable encounters to establish his atelier in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto—the ancient capital where dragons are believed to dwell.
