**Kyoto Ippitsu Ryu Artist / Keisuke Teshima:**
Since childhood, fascinated by dragons, he has continued to draw dragon images. Influenced by 14 years of karate, where he learned the spirit of Japanese martial arts, he encountered the traditional 'Ippitsu Ryu' and was deeply impressed by its technique and history, feeling it was his destiny. He mastered the technique through self-study. While preserving the tradition of the Edo-period 'Ippitsu Ryu,' he pursues the art with the spirit of 'Shuhari' (learning, detachment, mastery).
He is considered one of only three Ippitsu Ryu artists in Japan. Originally from Fukuoka Prefecture, through various coincidences and meaningful encounters, he was guided to establish his atelier in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto—the ancient capital where dragons are believed to dwell.
**Kyoto—The City of Dragons:**
Kyoto has been regarded for over 1,000 years as a place imbued with the power of dragon veins and dragon holes. Many shrines and temples associated with dragons exist, and pilgrimages to worship the dragon gods have been actively carried out since ancient times.
**Dragon (Ryujin) Belief in Japan:**
Japan has long been considered a mysterious land where dragons dwell, regarded as divine messengers or incarnations of the gods themselves. In numerous shrines, temples, myths, and legends, dragons are worshipped as deities of prosperity and protection, symbolizing growth and safeguarding.
