"New Model Small Jewel Set White & Nadeshiko (White Mon-tem & Nadeshiko Set)" is a product that includes a white lantern for the new Bon (※1) and a hand-painted fire bag that can also be displayed during the Bon after the new Bon (※2), with one set each. It can be used with interchangeable covers.

*1 About the New Bon
The first Bon after the 49th day after the death of a person, when their spirit is believed to return home for the first time, is called "Shinbon (First Bon)."
The New Bon is the day when the spirit of the deceased first returns to the home. It is customary to invite a priest to recite sutras and to serve food to those gathered.
Depending on the region, a plain white lantern without illustrations is used for the Bon. This white lantern is used only in the year of the new Bon and is disposed of after the Bon ends.

*2 About the Bon after the New Bon
After the new Bon, during the annual Bon festival, a ceremony is held to welcome the spirits of ancestors and deceased family members.
It begins with the "Mukaebi" (welcoming fire) to receive the spirits and ends with the "Okuribi" (farewell fire) to send them off.

To set the batteries,
1. Rotate the candle flame part to open.
2. Insert the batteries matching "+" and "−".
3. Rotate the candle flame part to close.
Follow this order to set.

*White Mon-tem & Nadeshiko SetWhile it can be used year-round as interior decor, it can also be stored in a box when not in use.
The outer box is also compact, making storage easy without taking up space.
Typically, white lanterns for the new Bon are prepared by the family of the deceased and are disposed of after the Bon (※). The decorated lanterns with illustrations (used annually) are usually prepared by relatives or acquaintances.

In recent years, due to changes in living environments, the decoration locations have shifted from Buddhist altars to living rooms, etc., and the family of the deceased generally prepares all lanterns and Bon supplies, while relatives and acquaintances tend to prepare offerings (cash, incense, etc.).
The timing for decorating also varies by household. Many start decorating gradually from the beginning of the Bon month (July or August), especially before the first day (Mukaebi) on the 13th and up to the 16th, to avoid rushing on the day itself.

【取扱い注意事項・お手入れ方法など】
火袋の水濡れや線香、ローソクからの引火にご注意ください。
お休みの際は電気を消してください。
お手入れする際はまずハタキや柔らかいブラシ、布等で埃を落としてください。化学雑巾や、水・洗剤、揮発性の薬品、殺虫剤は使用しないでください。
天然素材が多く使用されていますので、虫食いにご注意ください。
防虫剤を使用する際は提灯用のものをご用意ください。入れすぎるとかえって傷むことがありますのでご注意ください。

お盆は、ご先祖様や身近に亡くなったご家族の御霊をこの世にお迎えする行事です。御霊をお迎えする「迎え火」に始まり、お見送りする「送り火」に終わります。
ご家庭の中では盆提灯を迎え火・送り火としてしつらえ、ご先祖様や亡きご家族の魂を供養します。年に一度のご先祖様が帰ってくる時なので、できる範囲で精一杯のおもてなしをしましょう。

旧来は新盆用の白提灯は故人様の家族が用意し、それ以外の絵柄の入った盆提灯(毎年使用する提灯)は親戚・知人が用意するといった流れが一般的でしたが、近年の住環境の変化に伴い、飾る場所・スペースも仏間からリビングなどご家庭に合わせたやり方になってきた影響で、故人様の家族が提灯・盆用品を全て用意し、親戚・知人はお供え(現金やお線香など)を用意される傾向にあります。

また、飾り始めるタイミングもご家庭ごとに異なります。お盆初日（迎え盆）の13日から最終日の16日までの4日間を中心に飾るのですが、当日に飾り付けを始めるのは慌ただしくなってしまうため、お盆月（7月か8月）に入った時点で少しずつ飾り付けを始めておく方も多くいらっしゃいます。

「新型 小珠セット 白・撫子 (白紋天・撫子セット)」は、新盆(※1)用の白提灯と、新盆以降のお盆(※2)でもお飾りできる手描きの火袋が1つずつセットになった商品です。着せ替えをして使い続けることができます。

スペースを取らないミニサイズの提灯

小珠は丸みを帯びたかわいらしいミニサイズの提灯で、スペースを取らず設置できます。
従来の新盆用の白提灯は吊り下げ型が主流でしたが、スタンド型にデザインすることで、お仏壇の近くや玄関・リビングなど自由に飾れるようにしました。

LED電池灯について

ローソクの形を模したLED電池灯は単3電池2本を使用します。
電池をセットするには、
ローソクの火の部分を回転させて開けます。
「＋・−」に合わせて電池を入れます。
ローソクの火の部分を回転させて閉めます。
の順でセットします。
※ローソクの火の部分を閉め切ることで点灯します。

ライトは大切な方への「道標」

提灯のライトを点けると、ローソクの炎に似た自然なオレンジ色の光がこぼれます。
お盆は大切な方が年に一度ご自宅に帰ってきてくれる大切な行事。
「どうか迷わずに帰ってきて欲しい」という願いを込めながら、夜はライトを点灯させて下さい。
