【What is Ichifude Dragon?】As the name suggests, the dragon is drawn in one continuous stroke with a single brush, without interruption, while wishing and praying. It is believed to represent ‘unbroken development and wealth,’ ‘endless good connections and growth,’ and ‘continued protection and safety.’ Since the Edo period (1603–1868), for approximately 400 years, the dragon has been revered as a powerful guardian deity, believed to bring blessings and benefits, and has been faithfully passed down through generations.『Kyoto Ichifude Dragon’s Blessing / Symbol of Blessings — drawn in one continuous stroke without interruption.』

【Kyoto Ichifude Dragon Artist / Keisuke Tejima】Since childhood, he has been fascinated by dragons and has continued to draw dragon images. Influenced by 14 years of practicing ‘Karate-do,’ where he learned the spirit of Japanese martial arts, he encountered the traditional ‘Ichifude Dragon’ technique and was deeply impressed by its history and method, feeling it was his destiny. He learned the technique through self-study. While preserving the tradition of the Ichifude Dragon that has been passed down since the Edo period, he pursues the art with the spirit of ‘Shuhari’ (learning, detachment, mastery).He is considered one of only three Ichifude Dragon artists in Japan. Originally from Fukuoka Prefecture, through various coincidences and inevitable connections, he was guided to establish his studio in Higashiyama, Kyoto, a city with a 1,000-year history where dragons are believed to dwell.
