After washing in a machine, peel apart the printed surfaces as soon as possible.- Washing the print side inside out by hand helps maintain color. 【Kyoto Ippitsu Ryu Artist / Keisuke Teshima】Fascinated by dragons since childhood, he has continued to draw dragon images. Influenced by 14 years of practicing karate from age 6, where he learned the spirit of traditional Japanese martial arts, he encountered the traditional "Ippitsu Ryu" and was deeply impressed by its technique, history, and significance, feeling it was his destiny. He learned the technique through self-study. While preserving the tradition of the Ippitsu Ryu that has been passed down since the Edo period, he pursues the dragon with the spirit of 【Shuhari】 (learning, breaking away, and transcending).
He is considered one of only three Ippitsu Ryu artists in Japan. Originally from Fukuoka Prefecture, through various coincidences and meaningful encounters, he was guided to establish his atelier in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto—the ancient city where dragons are believed to dwell, and where the dragon gods reside.
【Kyoto—The City of Dragon Gods】Kyoto has been regarded for over 1,000 years as a place imbued with the power of dragon spirits residing in dragon holes and dragon veins. Many shrines and temples associated with dragons exist, and pilgrimages to visit these dragon deities have been actively practiced from ancient times to the present.
【Dragon (Ryujin) Belief in Japan】Japan has long been considered a mysterious land where dragons dwell, regarded as divine messengers or even as the gods themselves. Many shrines, temples, myths, and legends worship dragon gods as symbols of prosperity and protection.
