This is the Cathartt Chore Coat 10oz by TCB Jeans.
It features distinctive heart-shaped buttons.
It is a coverall that allows you to enjoy aging and patina over time.

Many of you may know that when TCB starts a new project, it often begins with encountering vintage pieces.
Cases include items I saw through glass as a child or only saw in magazines, or special vintage pieces worn by actors on TV—excuses like “recovering past admiration” to acquire and start making them.
Alternatively, as a representative example, Viktors Voice, there are cases where we borrow and create using special pieces that are not even available at vintage stores.

And this time, I must clarify beforehand.
We started without having found a perfect original sample for reference.
What we have are the heart-shaped buttons and an overall made from the same master cloth as the vintage pieces from that era. We began from there.

The reason is simple: it’s a jacket I’ve always wanted to make.
A few years ago, I came up with the word “Cathartt.”
Of course, when doing that, I was certain it would feature the heart-shaped buttons!
The fabric and master cloth name were inspired by vintage overalls.

The weave intentionally features a natural irregularity in the warp yarn (7th thread), while the weft (16th thread) is finer and slightly less densely woven.
By making the weft finer relative to the warp, the fabric exhibits a strong slub texture in the warp, resulting in a fabric that will develop vertical fading even with 10oz 2×1 denim.

The color is a 100% synthetic indigo that is not mixed with other dyes.
Compared to denim from the 1920s XX denim, it has fewer dyeing cycles, making it a brighter color.

For those who own a TCB coverall but are curious about the fabric feel of this one,
it is slightly softer than Tabby’s Jacket’s fabric, with a similar blue tone.
The weave pattern (2×1 twill) is more visible than usual, and the vertical yarn shows visible irregularities, so compared to Black Cat Jacket or Tabby’s Jacket, you can expect a more rugged, vintage-like fade.

**What about the base for the CHORE COAT?**
I own about two vintage Carhartt chore coats from the 1940s-50s.
While using those as a base silhouette, I referenced various materials and created this with a Master Cloth name, heart buttons, and period accuracy aiming for a 1920s vibe.

The front features four pockets.
The left chest pocket includes a pocket watch compartment and a pen slot—practical workwear-style pockets.

The buttons are original heart-shaped buttons.
The front and cuffs use different button sizes.
It is designed with changeable buttons, so please remove the buttons before washing.
Washing with buttons attached may cause damage.

The heart-shaped button, which I have always wanted to reproduce someday, was once easy to find at vintage stores for less than 10,000 yen just for the buttons.
But now, they are rarely available even for sale.
In the past, as long as the minimum requirements were met, I could produce them myself.
However, now, artisans who can reproduce the button design are decreasing due to retirements, and during production, the material supplier went out of business, causing delays and doubts about whether I could make them at all.

Even with the Boss Of The CAT Overall, I felt how difficult it is to produce truly dedicated parts.
I don’t know how long I will be able to make these buttons, but I want to cherish and use them carefully.

Recently, I cut my hair, but since I usually tie my hair up, I look forward to using a hair tie with a concho instead of a button.

The topmost front button has two holes, allowing you to adjust the button position with a changeable button—classic design.

The pocket area includes a tag.
It is a well-designed tag inspired by the period.

The cuffs are single-button style.
They also have two holes for adjustable positioning with changeable buttons—classic cuff design.

There is one convenient inner pocket, suitable for storing a wallet or smartphone.

Main parts are sewn with flat-felled seams.
Repeated wear and washing will develop characteristic puckering, giving the coverall a vintage look over time.

The back lining features a name tag.
It is a vintage-style, aesthetically pleasing name tag.

While we strive to display colors as close to the actual product as possible, please note that depending on your viewing environment, the color may appear slightly different.
Since the fabric uses a vintage-replica weave, it may have weaving scars, which are characteristic of the material.
Please understand this as part of the product’s nature.
Slight measurement errors may also occur.
