Product Name: TCB Jeans Boss of the Cat Overall
Material: 100% Cotton
Country of Origin: Japan
This is the Boss of the Cat Overall from TCB Jeans.
It is inspired by the vintage Boss of The Road from the 1920s.
This overall is packed with the craftsmanship characteristic of TCB Jeans and allows for enjoyable aging and patina.
We have created these overalls based on the 1920s Boss of The Road.
The name is Boss of the Cat Overall.
Although having only one pocket is rare, my favorite feature is the distinctive chest pocket with the stitched work that I have admired for a long time.
I find it mysterious how, 100 years ago, such a seemingly simple yet thoughtfully designed three-compartment pocket could be created.
The fabric used is 8×14, 10.2 oz slub yarn denim.
The fabric for this product is selvage denim woven on an old power loom, but the original vintage fabric does not have selvage edges.
Therefore, although it might be a waste, the product does not feature selvage edges.
Since we are not using selvage, using double-width fabric (woven on an innovative loom) could reduce fabric consumption, but after numerous prototypes, we found that fabric woven on an old power loom best captures the vintage feel.
Typically, when dissecting 13-14 oz fabrics, the weft and warp yarns are often 7×6 or 7×9, but this fabric is characterized by a significant difference between the warp yarn (size 8) and the weft yarn (size 14).
Why is this done?
Imagine a high-quality, fine-gauge knit; as the weft yarn becomes thinner, it allows for high-density weaving.
As a result, despite being 10 oz, it reproduces the durability of heavy-weight denim.
Furthermore, because the warp is thicker than the weft, when the fabric fades, vertical streaks are likely to develop, creating a vertical fade with a textured appearance.
The contrast between the raw, unwashed look of 2/1 warp selvage denim offers an unexpectedly striking expression.
The vertical indigo-dyed warp yarn is a light shade, while the weft yarn is extremely thin with a beige tint.
Dyeing the weft yarn was likely a technique to make the fabric's color appear darker, similar to vintage fabrics, and to hide dirt, while also giving the fabric a luxurious appearance with fewer dyeing processes.
Even the reverse side of the fabric looks charming.
This fabric is a fundamental example of 2/1 warp selvage denim.

The bib section is called the "bib."
It is said that the bib was designed to prevent dirt from reaching the clothing and to provide storage.
It features a functional, workwear-inspired design.
The bib includes three pockets and a buttonhole for securing a pocket watch.
This is a distinctive pocket design.
We thoroughly researched the patents previously held by Boss of the Road, but found that there are no trademarks or registered names specifically for this pocket.
The Boss of the Road logo features a bulldog—an image of a dog—sometimes with modifications such as hiding food or bones.
The animal depicted is sometimes a squirrel or other creatures, which in winter hoard food.
The term "Hoarding" refers to storing food for hibernation, so within the company, we call this the "Hoarding Pocket," with the message: "We hope you secretly put something favorite in this pocket and go out."

The buttons are specially made two-prong buttons for the Boss of the Cat Overall.
They are engraved with "BOSS OF THE CAT."
It features a button fly.
The fly also uses the specially made two-prong buttons for the Boss of the Cat Overall.
The suspenders are designed with a classic set hook that attaches to triangular rings.
They are easy to put on and take off, and designed to stay securely in place when worn.
*Note: The hook rings are a mix of silver and brass finishes.
The hooks are of a classic style from the 1910s-20s, where they are hooked onto triangular metal fittings without using buttons.
(These fittings were produced by a factory that has since gone out of business, and future production is uncertain.
We have secured enough for the first batch, but future versions may change.
Recently, many small factories capable of producing vintage-like accessories are closing down, which is a challenge for future manufacturing.)

On the right side, there is a tool pocket.
It is a tall, narrow pocket used historically for tools and work utensils.
The left side has no pocket, maintaining a simple design.
The label is made of fabric inspired by vintage designs.
There are eight different label designs.
Please note that the labels will be randomly shipped.
The original motif features a dog character, but this time it has been changed to a cat.
In the past, TCB has used various characters such as a black bear, cow, horse, or Uncle Steve, all transformed into cats.
Usually, we faithfully reproduce the animal's angles to match the original character, but this time, we have adopted eight different cat designs at our discretion.
(Designs will be shipped randomly; thank you for your understanding.)

While we strive to display the colors as close to the actual product as possible, please note that depending on your viewing environment, the colors may appear slightly different.
Since the fabric is designed to replicate vintage denim, it may have weaving scars or irregularities.
Please understand this as part of the product's characteristics.
Also, please allow for slight measurement errors in sizing.
