One of the series, the Ichimatsu pattern, features a regular checkered design that also carries the meaning of "prosperity of descendants" and "continuity of business."

We pay particular attention to the beauty when opened, using hand-dyed Washi paper with Nanten (Japanese pepper) motifs on the inner bottom surface. The color scheme, balanced with the exterior pattern, gives a refined impression.

The bottom surface uses plain, solid-colored paper.

While highlighting the beauty of the pattern, the subdued tone creates a design that allows you to enjoy different expressions on the front and back.

The hand-dyed Washi paper used in these box cases is crafted by Yuzen Washi dyeing artisans at a specialized factory in Kyoto, each piece handmade.

The deep colors and unique textures achieved through traditional techniques are highly attractive.

Close-up images of the patterns reveal the delicate overlapping of colors characteristic of hand-dyeing.

Subtle gradations and bleeding enhance the handcrafted feel, creating a one-of-a-kind beauty.

The finished hand-dyed Washi paper is then assembled by Kyoto box-making artisans, with each piece slightly different in expression, adding a sense of exclusivity.

The Ichimatsu pattern looks as if imbued with life.

When Kabuki actor Sano-gawa Ichimatsu appeared in a stylish, elegant white and navy costume, it was especially popular among women, who eagerly adopted the look.

Originally called "Ishidatami" (stone pavement pattern), it was renamed "Ichimatsu" due to its popularity.

Even today, it appears in the design of the protagonist's green and black haori in the manga "Demon Slayer" (Kimetsu no Yaiba), and remains beloved across generations and ages.
