Rin Sahrari (Sahari) Hayoto is a handmade rin crafted by Kyoto artisans. It is a traditional product made by repeatedly polishing and tuning each rin to match its individual characteristics while listening to the slight variations in sound produced during casting.
The "Hayoto" is tuned to produce a clear, slightly high-pitched tone.
The main sound of the rin combines a clear tone with a low, undulating sound, and this complex tone is traditionally considered a "good sound."
The sound of the product can vary greatly with only slight changes in the clay used for the mold and the alloy composition of the metal during casting.
Only products with a sound quality recognized as acceptable through the accumulated experience and techniques passed down as a secret in the workshop are circulated.
It is designed to carry the various feelings of the person who plays it in the "sound"—a wish from Kyoto’s traditional craftsmen that has continued since the Edo period.
It uses a copper-tin alloy called "Sahari," which has been used in Buddhist ritual implements since ancient times.
A specialized coloring craftsman extracts the color of the base metal by immersing it in a special solution boiled with verdigris, then coats it with a small amount of pigment mixed with lacquer, finishing it. Over time, it develops more character.

【Handling precautions and maintenance methods, etc.】
・Because it is handmade, the appearance of the color may vary from product to product. Please understand.
・When cleaning, avoid using metal polish, detergents, or wet cloths; instead, wipe with a soft dry cloth.
・Due to the nature of the product, the color and appearance will gradually change and develop more character. This does not affect the tone, so it is fine to use it as is.
・Because it uses hard metal, dropping or applying strong impact may cause it to break, so please be careful.
*Dimensions may vary slightly.
*Rin sticks are sold separately.
