The "Shiawase no Mon'yō" (Patterns of Happiness) series focuses on the "wish for happiness" embedded in traditional Japanese patterns. It is an original design created in collaboration with textile designers for Fuwa Market.
One of the series, the Ichimatsu pattern, features a regular checkered design that also carries the meaning of "prosperity of descendants" and "continuity of business."
The motifs, considered auspicious, have been modernized to harmonize with contemporary lifestyles.

Inside, there is a mini pocket convenient for storing small items such as transit cards and keys.

**The Charm of Hand-Dyed Craftsmanship**
The tote bag features Fuwa Market’s original textile.
It is made from traditional canvas fabric from the domestic brand "Fujikinbai," woven carefully one by one using a rare shuttle loom, which is now a valuable craft.
The high-quality canvas is hand-dyed by artisans at a dyeing factory in Kyoto, using traditional techniques that produce rich colors and a unique texture.

Subtle gradations and bleeding enhance the handcrafted feel, creating a one-of-a-kind beauty.
Each piece is dyed meticulously, and the hand-dyed canvas is finished by artisans working individually. Slight variations in expression give each item a special, unique character.

**The Wishes and Prayers Embedded in the Ichimatsu Pattern**
Elegant and beautiful, the Ichimatsu pattern features alternating squares that seem to sway gently, creating a lively appearance.
It looks as if it is imbued with life, which is why the pattern is called Ichimatsu.
When kabuki actor Sano-gawa Ichimatsu appeared in white and navy costumes, he exuded style and elegance, inspiring many women to wear it as well.
Originally called "Ishidatami" (stone-paved pattern), it was renamed Ichimatsu due to its popularity.
Even today, it appears in the design of the protagonist’s green and black haori in the manga "Demon Slayer" ("Kimetsu no Yaiba"), and remains beloved across generations and ages.
The color options include a calming green tone, associated with healing, and a warm red tone.
Despite their subdued hues, both colors are distinctive and make excellent everyday accessories. The modern Japanese design also pairs well with yukata or kimono.
