【What is Ichifude Ryu?】As the name suggests, Ichifude Ryu is a dragon drawn with a single brushstroke (one-fude) that unbrokenly embodies wishes and prayers in its body. 【Kyoto Ichifude Ryu Artist / Keisuke Tejima】Since childhood, captivated by dragons, he has continued to draw dragon images. Influenced by 14 years of karate, which he practiced from age 6, learning the spirit of Japanese martial arts, he encountered the traditional ‘Ichifude Ryu’ technique and was deeply impressed by its history and method. Believing it to be his destiny, he mastered the technique through self-study. While preserving the tradition of Ichifude Ryu dating back to the Edo period, he pursues dragons with the spirit of ‘Shuhari’ (learning, detachment, mastery). He is one of only three Ichifude Ryu artists in Japan. Originally from Fukuoka Prefecture, through various coincidences and inevitable connections, he was guided to establish his studio in Higashiyama, Kyoto, a city with a 1,000-year history where dragon gods dwell.
