【What is Ichifude Ryu?】As the name suggests, Ichifude Ryu is a dragon drawn with a single brush stroke without interruption, embodying wishes and prayers. 【Kyoto Ichifude Ryu Artist / Keisuke Tejima】From childhood, fascinated by dragons, he has continued to draw dragon images. Influenced by 14 years of karate, which he practiced from age 6, and learning the spirit of Japanese martial arts, he encountered the traditional 『Ichifude Ryu』 technique. He was deeply impressed by its history and technique, felt it was his destiny, and learned it independently. While preserving the tradition of Ichifude Ryu dating back to the Edo period, he pursues the art with the spirit of 『Shuhari』 (learning, detachment, mastery). He is one of only three known Ichifude Ryu artists in Japan. Originally from Fukuoka Prefecture, through various coincidences and inevitable encounters, he was guided to establish his atelier in Higashiyama, Kyoto, a city with a 1,000-year history where dragons are believed to dwell.
