【What is Ichifudragon?】As the name suggests, the Ichifudragon is a dragon drawn with a single brushstroke (one-fude) that unbrokenly depicts the dragon’s body while containing wishes and prayers. 【Kyoto Ichifudragon Artist / Keisuke Tejima】Since childhood, captivated by dragons, he has continuously drawn dragon images. Influenced by 14 years of karate, which he practiced from age 6, learning the spirit of Japanese martial arts, he encountered the traditional 『Ichifudragon』 technique and was deeply impressed by its history and method, feeling it was his destiny. He learned the technique through self-study. While preserving the tradition of Ichifudragon passed down since the Edo period, he pursues the art with the spirit of 【Shuhari】 (learning, detachment, mastery). He is one of only three Ichifudragon artists in Japan. Originally from Fukuoka Prefecture, through various coincidences and inevitable connections, he was guided to establish his atelier in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto, a city with a 1,000-year history where dragons are believed to dwell.
