【What is Ichifude Ryu?】As the name suggests, the dragon is drawn with a single brush stroke (Ichifude) without interruption, expressing wishes and prayers. It is believed to symbolize:- Continuous development and financial luck- Unbroken connections for good relationships and growth- Ongoing protection and safetyThis tradition has been revered and treasured as a divine dragon for approximately 400 years since the Edo period (1603–1868). 【Kyoto Ichifude Ryu Artist / Keisuke Tejima】Since childhood, he has been fascinated by dragons and has continuously drawn dragon images. Influenced by 14 years of practicing karate from age 6, where he learned the spirit of Japanese martial arts, he encountered the traditional 『Ichifude Ryu』 and was deeply impressed by its technique and history, feeling it was his destiny. He learned the technique through self-study. While preserving the tradition of Ichifude Ryu passed down since the Edo period, he pursues dragons with the spirit of 【Shuhari】 (a concept of mastery and evolution). He is one of only three Ichifude Ryu artists in Japan. Originally from Fukuoka Prefecture, through various coincidences and inevitable connections, he was guided to establish his atelier in Higashiyama, Kyoto, a city with a 1,000-year history where dragon gods dwell.
