【Kyoto One-Stroke Dragon Artist / Keisuke Tejima】Since childhood, he has been fascinated by dragons and has continuously drawn dragon images. Influenced by 14 years of practicing karate, where he learned the spirit of Japanese martial arts, he encountered the traditional 『One-Stroke Dragon』 technique and was deeply impressed by its history and craftsmanship. Believing it to be his divine mission, he learned the technique through self-study. While preserving the tradition of the Edo-period one-stroke dragons, he pursues mastery with the spirit of 【Shuhari】 (learning, detachment, mastery). He is one of only three known one-stroke dragon artists in Japan. Originally from Fukuoka Prefecture, he was guided by various fortunate and inevitable encounters to establish his atelier in Higashiyama, Kyoto, a city with a 1,000-year history where dragon gods are believed to dwell.
【Kyoto — The City Where Dragon Gods Reside】Kyoto has been regarded for over 1,000 years as a place imbued with the power of dragon spirits residing in dragon holes and dragon veins. Many shrines and temples associated with dragons exist, and pilgrimages to worship dragon gods have been actively carried out from ancient times to the present.
【Dragon (Ryujin) Belief in Japan】Japan has long been considered a mysterious land inhabited by dragons, regarded as divine messengers or manifestations of the gods themselves. Many shrines, temples, myths, and legends worship dragon gods, symbolizing prosperity and protection.
