【Kyoto One-Stroke Dragon Artist / Keisuke Tejima】Fascinated by dragons since childhood, he has continued to draw dragon images. Influenced by 14 years of practicing karate from age 6, through which he learned the spirit of Japanese martial arts, he encountered the traditional 『One-Stroke Dragon』 technique and was deeply impressed by its history and method. Believing it to be his divine calling, he learned the technique through self-study. While preserving the tradition of the One-Stroke Dragon dating back to the Edo period, he pursues it with the spirit of 【Shuhari】 (a concept of learning, detachment, and mastery). He is one of only three known One-Stroke Dragon artists in Japan. Originally from Fukuoka Prefecture, through various coincidences and inevitable connections, he was guided to establish his atelier in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto—a city with a 1,000-year history where dragons are believed to dwell.
【Kyoto, the City of Dragon Deities】Kyoto has been regarded for over 1,000 years as a place imbued with the power of dragon deities residing in dragon holes and dragon veins. Many shrines and temples associated with dragons exist, and pilgrimages to worship dragon deities have been actively carried out from ancient times to the present.
【Dragon (Ryujin) Belief in Japan】Japan has long been considered a mysterious land where dragons dwell, regarded as divine messengers or manifestations of the gods themselves. Many shrines, temples, myths, and legends worship and revere dragon deities, symbolizing prosperity and protection.
