【Kyoto One-Stroke Dragon Artist / Keisuke Tejima】Since childhood, captivated by dragons, he has continued to draw dragon images. Influenced by 14 years of practicing karate from age 6, where he learned the spirit of Japanese martial arts, he encountered the traditional 『Hitofude Dragon』 technique. He was deeply impressed by its history and technique, felt it was his destiny, and learned it through self-study. While preserving the tradition of the Edo-period one-stroke dragons, he pursues the art with the spirit of 【Shuhari】 (learning, detachment, mastery). He is considered one of only three in Japan to be a master of the one-stroke dragon painting. Originally from Fukuoka Prefecture, through various coincidences and inevitable encounters, he was guided to establish his atelier in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto—the ancient capital where dragons are believed to dwell, a city with a 1,000-year history.
【Kyoto—The City Where Dragons Reside】Kyoto has been regarded for over 1,000 years as a place imbued with the power of dragon veins and dragon holes. Many shrines and temples associated with dragons exist, and pilgrimages to honor the dragon gods have been actively carried out from ancient times to the present.
【Dragon (Dragon God Belief) in Japan】Japan has long been considered a mysterious land where dragons dwell. Dragons are regarded as messengers of the gods or as deities themselves. In many shrines, temples, myths, and legends, dragons are worshipped and revered as symbols of 『prosperity』 and 『protection』.
