It is best to match the size to the size of your Buddhist altar.
Generally, sizes from 4.0 sun (small altar) to 4.5 sun (medium altar) are commonly chosen. Sizes over 5.0 sun suit large altars.
Carefully measure whether the selected memorial tablet can be placed in the space for enshrining (usually the second tier from the top, left and right) of your Buddhist altar.
【About the dimensions display of memorial tablets】
The size of memorial tablets is basically expressed in "sun," such as 4 sun or 4.5 sun. 1 sun equals 3.03 cm.
For example, a 4-sun memorial tablet has a "satsu height" of approximately 4 (sun) × 3.03 (cm) = 12.12 cm.
Please note that this dimension usually refers to the "satsu height" and does not indicate the "total height" (height from top to bottom).
【Other precautions】
When actually placing it in a Buddhist altar, the "total height" is important.
If you are concerned about the size, it is reliable to check how tall a memorial tablet can be placed in the actual space where you will enshrine it.
Additionally, if you already have other memorial tablets enshrined, their sizes are often used as a reference.
