The "Shiawase no Mon'yō" (Patterns of Happiness) series is an original design created in collaboration with textile designers, focusing on the "meaning of wishing for happiness" inherent in traditional Japanese patterns. It is an exclusive design by Fuwa Market.
One of the series, the Seigaiha (Blue Ocean Waves), features a pattern symbolizing "eternal prosperity" and "family fortune," with waves that continue infinitely. The motif, considered auspicious, has been modernized to harmonize with contemporary lifestyles.
✔ Dedicated craftsmanship: Carefully finished one by one at a specialized factory in Kyoto

✔ Perfect for high-quality gifts: "Patterns of Happiness" conveying special sentiments
Enhance your enjoyment of visiting shrines and temples
The size of the Goshuincho (stamp book) is a large B6 size, measuring 18cm in height and 12cm in width. Its convenient size allows for neat placement of stamped seals (Goshuin).
The book has 48 pages in total (24 sheets, double-sided), with a fold-out accordion-style design. When opened, it displays multiple Goshuin at a glance, thanks to the long, folded paper.
Besides being used as a Goshuin book, it can also serve as a mini notebook, scrapbook, travel journal, recipe book, or portfolio—its versatility is another appeal.
Every time you hold it, your mind becomes more centered, enriching your visits to shrines and temples.
The Charm of Hand-Dyed Craftsmanship
The washi paper used in this Goshuincho is hand-dyed by Yuzen paper dyeing artisans at a specialized factory in Kyoto.
The deep colors and unique textures achieved through traditional techniques are truly captivating.
Close-up images of the patterns reveal delicate color overlaps characteristic of hand-dyeing.
Subtle gradations and bleeding enhance the handcrafted feel, creating a one-of-a-kind beauty.
Each sheet is carefully dyed during the printing process, resulting in depth and warmth that cannot be achieved with mere printing.
The hand-dyed washi paper is then meticulously assembled into each book by Kyoto’s box-making artisans, with each piece exhibiting slight variations that add a sense of exclusivity.
Please experience the texture and warmth created by the artisans’ craftsmanship.
The Wishes and Prayers Embedded in the Seigaiha Pattern
The infinite waves symbolize abundance.
Large swirling waves and smaller, calmer waves overlap like fans, forming a lively Seigaiha pattern.
This motif is a significant symbol for people worldwide, especially in regions close to the sea. It appears not only in Japan but also in Egypt, Persia, and other cultures.
It was introduced in the Heian period in the story "The Tale of Genji" and became popular among common people again during the Edo period.
As a symbol of plentiful blessings and endless prosperity, it is loved as an auspicious motif and often given as a gift for weddings and housewarmings.
Color options include a refreshing blue tone and a warm brown tone.
While subdued, these colors are distinctive and make the item perfect for enhancing your Goshuin collection.
*Please note that, due to the large sheets being cut to size, pattern placement may vary.*
