The purpose of DSIS insoles is to regulate foot movement and support the three arches of the foot. This allows toes to function properly, promotes rhythmic walking, and reduces foot fatigue. The insoles are feedback from the medical field.

◆ Focus on Dynamic Balance During Walking

Humans have evolved to walk upright on two legs. About a quarter of the body's bones are in the feet. During walking, the heel strikes the ground, the arch helps shift the center of gravity forward, and the foot pushes off to move ahead. This is dynamic balance in gait.

DSIS insoles absorb shocks and reliably support the transfer of weight from the heel, through the arch, to the toes. The shock-absorbing Sorbo Sain material is designed to have similar shock absorption properties as skin and muscles, minimizing bodily strain.

When using DSIS insoles, impact on the heel is reduced, and the arch is effectively utilized to transfer weight to the toes. Proper walking line promotes healthy feet.

Without using the insoles, impact on the heel increases, the center of gravity shifts outside the correct walking line, and toe push-off weakens. ◆ Insoles Used in Medical Settings

Insoles are called foot orthoses or insoles in medical practice. Their purpose is to disperse pressure on painful areas and reduce the burden on the foot.

They also prevent and correct deformities of the sole, guiding the foot and posture into proper alignment. The goal is to improve symptoms by enabling the foot to function correctly.

◆ Plantar Fasciitis and Insoles

The plantar fascia is a thick ligament running from the inside of the heel to the front of the foot, playing a vital role in maintaining the arch. When inflamed, it causes pain in the sole and can make walking difficult. Causes include excessive exercise like jogging or running, or sometimes occur without clear reason in middle-aged and older individuals. To reduce inflammation and load on the plantar fascia, insoles are prescribed.

An accessory navicular is an extra bone that protrudes on the outer side of the navicular bone (just below the inner ankle, can be felt with fingers). It can cause pain and is often seen in flat-footed individuals or children. Treatment involves anti-inflammatory and pain relief methods, along with insoles to reduce tension on the posterior tibial tendon.

Sesamoids are small bones embedded within tendons, acting as pivot points for joint movement. Two sesamoid bones are located at the base of the big toe. We focused on the three arches of the foot around the arch of the instep and developed this product in collaboration with Dr. Toshihiko Uchida, a medical doctor (orthopedic surgeon), member of the Japanese Shoe Medical Society, and a councilor of the Japanese Foot Surgery Society. Together with the non-profit organization Orthotics Society, founded by Dr. Uchida, we have promoted product development and awareness activities. DSIS Sorbo Mediful is an insole born from these activities. The product name "Mediful" reflects its origin in the medical field.

The "DSIS" system, devised by our NPO Orthotics Society, aims to adjust foot movement with this insole to reduce foot troubles. It is truly an insole feedback from the medical field—"DSIS Sorbo Mediful."

■ Usage Instructions:

1. Remove the existing insole from your shoes.

2. Place the new insole over the removed one, aligning the heel, and check for size differences.

3. If there is a size difference, mark the outline along the edge with an oil-based pen.

4. Carefully cut along the marked line with scissors, taking care not to cut yourself.

5. Insert the cut-in-half insole into your shoes, and check that the toe area fits properly, with no tilting or floating. Use your hand to confirm.

Replace the existing insole with the new one inside your shoes.

The insoles are designed with appropriate thickness to absorb shocks. If the interior of your shoes is too tight, it may not fit.
