The DSIS Sorbo Mediful Insole is designed to address foot problems.
Highly rated in the medical field.
This full insole is highly regarded and trusted in the medical field for its effectiveness in alleviating foot, knee, and lower back issues.
It features a full surface made of shock-absorbing material "Sorbo Sain," and incorporates three arch supports that enhance toe function and reduce foot troubles.
◆ Features of the DSIS Sorbo Mediful Insole
- Equipped with the maximum amount of Sorbo Sain in the DSIS insole
- Quickly deforms upon impact to absorb pressure, then slowly returns to its original shape
- Distributes pressure evenly, fitting gently to the human body
- DSIS pads improve mobility and help reduce foot problems
The DSIS Sorbo Mediful Insole contains more Sorbo Sain than the standard DSIS insoles, with the same thickness. Although it weighs approximately 100g per foot, its effectiveness is maximized within the DSIS insole series. It is highly evaluated by those suffering from issues such as plantar fasciitis, painful accessory bones, sesamoiditis, as well as knee pain, lower back pain, and individuals with standing jobs.
◆ What is DSIS?
"Walk healthily and stay active forever!"
This is the purpose of the DSIS insole.
DSIS adjusts the movement of the foot using this insole and supports the "three arches" of the sole. This allows toes to be used properly, promotes rhythmic walking, and reduces foot fatigue. It is an insole feedback from the medical field.
◆ Focus on Dynamic Balance During Walking
Humans have evolved to walk upright on two legs. About a quarter of the body's bones are in the feet. During walking, the heel lands first, then the center of gravity shifts to the toes using the arch of the foot, and push-off occurs. This is dynamic balance during gait.
The DSIS insole absorbs shocks and reliably supports the transfer of the center of gravity from the heel to the arch and toes.
Moreover, the shock-absorbing material Sorbo Sain is designed to have shock absorption similar to skin and muscles, so it does not burden the body.
When using the DSIS insole, impact on the heel is reduced, and the center of gravity can be effectively shifted to the toes by properly utilizing the arch. Proper walking line promotes healthy feet.
Without using the insole, impact on the heel is greater, the center of gravity shifts away from the correct walking line, resulting in weaker push-off from the toes. This can lead to heel pain, plantar fasciitis, flatfoot, and other issues. It may also cause sprains or put stress on the knees and hips due to unstable balance, increasing the risk of foot, knee, and lower back problems.
◆ What is Sorbo Sain?
A viscoelastic polymer compound with IPNs (Interpenetrating Polymer Networks) that has a molecular structure similar to skin and muscles. It is called artificial muscle due to its properties.
◆ Three Features of Sorbo Sain
1. Unique shock absorption and body pressure dispersion performance
- Its molecular structure similar to skin and muscles gently and effectively absorbs impact on the foot.
- Fits well and comfortably even after long-term use.
2. Does not deteriorate or become embedded
- Its molecular structure enables shock absorption and pressure dispersion.
- Unlike foam materials like ECA, it does not deteriorate over time.
- It does not burden the body like silicone.
3. Antibacterial and hygienic performance
- Sorbo Sain has excellent antibacterial properties, suppressing bacterial growth.

◆ Insoles Used in Medical Settings
Insoles are called foot orthoses or insoles in medical practice. Their purpose is to distribute pressure on painful areas and reduce the burden on the foot.
They also prevent and correct deformities of the sole, guiding the foot and posture into proper alignment. The goal is to improve symptoms by enabling the foot to function correctly.
Sorbo DSIS pads, used in medical settings, are also incorporated into Sorbo insoles. Certified foot care control trainers conduct consultations on the customer's foot condition and create customized insoles to help improve foot issues.
◆ Plantar Fasciitis and Insoles
The plantar fascia is a thick ligament running from the inside of the heel to the front of the foot, playing a vital role in maintaining the arch. When inflamed, it causes pain in the sole and makes walking difficult. Causes of plantar fasciitis include excessive exercise such as jogging or running, or it can occur without specific cause in middle-aged and older individuals. Inflammatory and pain relief treatments, along with insoles to reduce load on the plantar fascia, are prescribed.
◆ Accessory Navicular and Insoles
An accessory navicular is an extra bone that protrudes on the outer side of the navicular bone (located just below the inner ankle, can be felt with the hand). It can cause pain and is often seen in people with flat feet or children. Treatment involves anti-inflammatory and pain relief therapy, and insoles are prescribed to reduce tension in the posterior tibial tendon.
◆ Sesamoid Bone Disorders and Insoles
Sesamoids are small bones embedded within tendons, acting as pivot points for joint movement. Two sesamoids are located at the base of the big toe. They bear significant load during weight-bearing and can become inflamed (sesamoiditis). To reduce load and inflammation, anti-inflammatory treatments and insoles are prescribed.
◆ DSIS Sorbo Mediful was developed based on feedback from the medical field
We focused on the three arches around the arch of the foot and developed this product in collaboration with Dr. Toshihiko Uchida, a medical doctor (orthopedic surgeon), member of the Japan Shoe Medical Society, and a councilor of the Japan Foot Surgery Society. Together with the non-profit organization Orthotics Society, founded by Dr. Uchida, we have promoted product development and awareness activities. DSIS Sorbo Mediful is born from these efforts. The product name "Mediful" reflects its origin in the medical field.
The "DSIS" system, devised by our NPO Orthotics Society, aims to adjust foot movement with this insole to reduce foot troubles. Truly, it is an insole feedback from the medical field—"DSIS Sorbo Mediful."
