[Kyoto Yumemiya Made]
In collaboration with Yumemiya, which handles interior accessories and miscellaneous goods made with chirimen, we have developed our original series of seasonal chirimen arrangement boxes.
Yumemiya's products are all handmade from design to manufacturing, carefully crafted by Kyoto artisans one by one.

Chirimen is a traditional Japanese woven fabric. Unlike regular cloth, it uses twisted (braided) threads intentionally shrunk to create a surface with unevenness.
It has a good texture and a gentle feel, and is widely used as fabric for traditional Japanese clothing.

Chirimen exudes a sense of luxury and a calm atmosphere, and is often used not only for kimono but also for furoshiki, kinchaku, covers for goshuincho (temple stamp books), Japanese accessories, and increasingly for Buddhist altar items such as juzu bags and fukusa (cloth for wrapping sacred objects).

Obon is a traditional event to welcome the spirits of ancestors and close family members who have passed away into this world. It begins with the 'Mukaebi' (welcoming fire) and ends with the 'Okuribi' (sending fire).
In households, Bon lanterns are arranged as Mukaebi and Okuribi to honor the spirits of ancestors and deceased family members. Since it is the time once a year when ancestors return, it is customary to do your best to welcome them within your means.

Traditionally,White lanterns for Shinbon (new Obon)were prepared by the family of the deceased, whileLanterns with designs (used annually) were generally prepared by relatives and acquaintances.However, due to recent changes in living environments, the placement and space for decorations have shifted from Buddhist altar rooms to living rooms and other parts of the home, leading to a trend where the family of the deceased prepares all lanterns and Obon supplies, while relatives and acquaintances prepare offerings (cash, incense, etc.).Furthermore, the timing to start decorating varies by household. Although the main decoration period is from the 13th (beginning of Obon) to the 16th (final day), many start gradually in the Obon month (July or August) to avoid rushing on the day itself.Hasegawa responds to various requests regarding Obon offerings and memorial services.

また、飾り始めるタイミングもご家庭ごとに異なります。お盆初日（迎え盆）の13日から最終日の16日までの4日間を中心に飾るのですが、当日に飾り付けを始めるのは慌ただしくなってしまうため、お盆月（7月か8月）に入った時点で少しずつ飾り付けを始めておく方も多くいらっしゃいます。
