Yuzen is a Buddhist altar made in Japan with a careful craftsmanship, featuring a simple furniture-style design, incorporating distinctive patterns using vertical lattice and glass.

The vertical lattice on the back panel symbolizes "Japan," while the glass panel of the Sumi-dan (altar shelf) represents "water." Using glass on the upper tier creates an effect of spaciousness inside and gives the impression that the main deity appears to be floating, which is a deliberate design choice.
Additionally, the upper tier and the base plate are removable, making it easy to accommodate families with many memorial tablets and other items.

Since the altar is designed to be assembled in two parts, a dedicated dowel is used during installation to prevent misalignment.
The lower stand functions as storage space, where you can keep the belongings of the deceased, incense sticks, prayer beads, and more.
