Jōyō Daishi (right) refers to Zen Master Dōgen, the founder of Eiheiji Temple of the Soto sect, and is enshrined on the right side of the upper shelf of the Buddhist altar.
Jōsai Daishi (left) refers to Zen Master Eizan, the founder of Sōjiji Temple of the Soto sect, and is enshrined on the left side of the upper shelf of the Buddhist altar.
