Two types of different-colored precious woods are combined and crafted using traditional Buddhist altar manufacturing techniques to create a high-quality small Buddhist altar.
The back panel is made of white wood assembled in an ajiro pattern and dyed with "indigo dye," a traditional craft originating from Tokushima.
As the name suggests, indigo dyeing involves coloring with indigo, which has excellent colorfastness and does not fade easily.
Originally, dyeing was mainly used for fibers, but in recent years, indigo dyeing has also been applied to wood, and this technique is utilized in the craftsmanship of this altar.
The Sumi-dan shelf features a drawer for storage, allowing you to store small items or memorial belongings.
Additionally, the ceremonial tray (raiban) and Sumi-dan shelf are movable and can be removed.
