A brass brush used for surface preparation of metal miniatures is a useful tool for achieving a smooth finish while maintaining fine detail.
First, it is ideal for treating thin metal "burrs" that form during casting. A light brushing is all that is needed to remove excess and detail. Also, miniatures that have been stored for a long time may have an oxide film on them, which can be brushed off to bring back the original shine of the metal. In addition, removing oil and hand grime from the manufacturing process improves the paint's adhesion, which in turn improves the paint's finish.
