温かで、切ないアコースティック・ソングを奏でる台湾の3人組、Four Pens日本デビュー作！
国立台湾芸術大学の音楽サークルで結成されたソングライターのBiboを中心に、女性シンガーのCandace（小四）、メタロフォン奏者のSunny（咨咨）の3人組。メンバーの名前の組み合わせから四枝筆樂團（フォー・ペンズ）と名付けられた。アイスランドのOf Monsters and Menや日本のClammbonやtoeにも影響を受けたというオーガニックなサウンドはすぐに台湾国内で話題となり、勢力なライブ活動と2枚のEPのリリースを続け、結成から僅か数年でFacebookの1万ファンを獲得する。アコースティック・ギターによる胸を打つ旋律を軸に、CandaceとBiboによる混声コーラスやストリングスや鉄琴、ピアニカなど様々な楽器を組み合わせ、人生における希望や苦悩を美しいメロディに乗せて歌う。2014年には東京や大阪、京都を巡るツアーも敢行した。
これまでに朝を夜をテーマにした2枚のEP『AM 6:57』『PM 11:59』を台湾にてリリース。今回リリースとなる日本盤CDにはその2枚のEP収録曲の新ミックスと、台湾のアコースティック・セッション『樂人Session』での配信が話題となった名曲「明天的自己」を収録。“One Day（ある一日）”をテーマにした、ピースフルで、心が温まるメロディで満ちた12曲入りアルバム。温かな木漏れ日の1日を象徴するようなインディーポップM-2「Lazy Afternoon」、Sunnyの鉄琴の音色とドライヴィンなBiboのギターが滑らかに疾走するM-4「星星」、ドライなアコギのストロークとCandaceの憂いのあるヴォーカルが切ないM-7「All in Vain」、台湾インディーの魅力を伝えるハートウォーミングなM-10「Sunkist Song」、そして胸を打つ名曲M-11「明天的自己」などを収録。CDアートワークはファッション誌撮影などでも活躍する台湾気鋭のフォトグラファー、Puzzleman Leungの撮りおろしによるもの。
台湾国内の大型フェスティバル「Wake Up Festival」に出演を果たし、今年10月には台北にてフジロック『Rookie A Go-Go』に出演したManic Sheepと日本のWallflowerとの共演を予定している。
