Indigo-dyed trays are colored using a traditional and natural dyeing method called “Hakko-date,” which uses only natural materials and does not involve any chemicals.
By indigo-dyeing the white sycamore trays, which feature a characteristic luster pattern (shrinkage), the beautiful ripple-like pattern that spreads when a drop falls on the water surface is further accentuated.
You can enjoy the changes in the indigo color of the naturally dyed wood over the lifetime of the tray.
The color of the wood varies depending on the angle of the light and the viewing direction. Utilizing this feature, the veneer is cut into triangles and assembled in a circle from the center, creating a design that resembles rays of light emanating from the center.
This round tray is larger than other wooden trays but remains very lightweight.
It can be used not only for carrying items but is also recommended for use on the floor or on a sofa.
