★Jean-Luc Godard, winner of the Louis Delluc Prize in 1987, depicts "Approximately 18 poetic fantasies for actors, camera, and tape recorder."
The story unfolds simultaneously through three different narrative threads: the story of the idiot baron played by Godard himself, the strange journey of a man played by Jacques Vilret, and the recording sessions of Les Rita Mitsouko.
It is depicted with overwhelming passion and a sense of speed, skillfully and, above all, freely collaging images, sound, and words.
The culmination of "Sonimage," which aimed for a new kind of cinema that plays with image and sound!
Video extras include "Letter to Freddy Buache" (1981), produced at the request of the city of Lausanne, Switzerland, and interviews with cinematographer Caroline Champetier and writer/screenwriter Jean-Claude Carrière!

■STORY
One day, a phone call comes for His Highness the Duke, known as "the idiot."
He is told that if he creates a story, makes it into a film, and delivers it to the capital by nightfall, his past sins will be forgiven.
The Duke sets off with reels of film in a small airplane filled with passengers, piloted by a suicidal pilot.
A man who suspects he is an alien encounters and confronts various people in his quest for "one place on Earth."
Meanwhile, the popular French rock band Les Rita Mitsouko begins recording their new album, searching for new sounds...
