Popular "Shifukami" from the Washi Club, now delivered with illustrations drawn by young designers from Musica Go.
Because it uses fusuma paper woven with thread called "sashi," it is very durable.
When crumpled and揉み込む (momi komu - kneaded or rubbed), you can enjoy its unique texture.
*Note: The image shows the book cover attached to an A5-sized book.*
This is a free-size book cover made from Kichō Shifukami, which has a smooth feel and is comfortable to the touch.
It is designed to fold and wrap around the book to fit its size, making it compatible with various book sizes.
Kichō Shifukami is made using sashi paper, a material that originated in the Muromachi period for shōin-style architecture and has been used in fusuma (sliding doors) up to modern times.
The sashi paper used in this material was mainly produced for fusuma, appreciated for its texture and durability, and was mass-produced during the Showa period.
In recent years, due to changes in lifestyle, production of this textured material has decreased.
You can enjoy its distinctive tactile feel when held and its gentle appearance when viewed.
