APO-LANTHAR（アポランター）とは、フォクトレンダーのレンズの中でも特に高性能な製品に与えられる称号で、APOはアポクロマート設計に由来します。その誕生は1954年。光の３原色を構成するRGBの軸上色収差を限りなくゼロに近づけるアポクロマート設計は、カラーフィルムの登場によって求められた経緯があります。モノクロからカラーへとフィルムの形式が転換した際のシビアさ以上に、現在の高画素化したデジタルセンサーには非常に高度な色収差の抑制が求められています。アポクロマート設計とは、既に解決済みの古い技術ではなく、デジタル時代にこそ真剣に取り組むべきテーマです。本製品はニコン Z マウント専用レンズとしてAPO-LANTHAR 50mm F2 Aspherical、APO-LANTHAR 35mm F2 Asphericalに続き、APO-LANTHARの名を冠した３本目のレンズとなります。
■MACRO APO-LANTHAR 65mm F2 Asphericalは、ニコン Z マウント専用の高性能マニュアルフォーカスマクロレンズ。
フルサイズのイメージサークルをカバーし、光学設計はニコン Z システムカメラのイメージセンサーに最適化されています。本レンズは電子接点を搭載し、レンズとボディ間での電気通信を実現しています。電気通信対応のボディと最新ファームウエアの組み合わせ*1によりExif情報、ボディ内手ブレ補正（３軸）に加え、３種類のピント合わせサポート機能（フォーカスポイント枠色変化によるピント合わせ、ピーキング機能によるピント合わせ、拡大ボタンによるピント合わせ）に対応しています。
■両面非球面レンズ１枚、異常部分分散ガラス６枚を投入した８群10枚構成の光学性能は、フォクトレンダー史上において最優秀を誇ります。マクロレンズとしては大口径の開放F値により大きなボケが楽しめることに加え、絞り開放からシャープな結像性能を示し、フローティング機構の採用により最短撮影距離0.31m（撮影倍率：1/2倍）から遠方のモチーフまで極めて優秀な画像品質で描き切ります。
