Mitsubishi Electric Super VHS Video HV-E500
This Mitsubishi S-VHS video deck is said to surpass even the original Victor in tape playback stability. By connecting it to a Blu-ray or DVD recorder with an S-Video cable and dubbing, you can preserve old footage on disc with the original picture quality.
Equipped with the "Clean Erase" function, which can return tapes to their initial static state. You can use tapes as if they were new, with no tape splices (tape damage cannot be repaired). A standalone tape eraser costs around 20,000 yen, so this is a cost-effective feature for frequent users.
The color tone is neutral, and the screen is flat and stable down to the corners. The menu settings are also considered easy to understand.
