This unique bag is inspired by the traditional Japanese "Azuma Bag" and is made by upcycling old obi sashes. The beautiful Japanese patterns are preserved, and you can feel the warmth and individuality unique to handmade items. The obi-jime (sash cord) is used for the handles, making it a piece that shines with delicate details.

It features a convenient magnet closure inside, allowing for secure and safe storage of your belongings. Additionally, by bringing the handles together, the bag can transform into a three-dimensional form, allowing you to change its appearance. This is a bag that, like a piece of art, shows a different expression with each use.

While compact in size, it is designed to hold everyday items securely. It is lightweight and easy to carry. The traditional Japanese pattern blends seamlessly with modern fashion, adding a touch of elegance to simple outfits.

Perfect for those who are particular about ethical fashion or are looking for a special accessory. Let's brighten up your daily life with this one-of-a-kind bag that allows you to enjoy the beauty of Japan in a modern style.

[About the Fabric]
We use gorgeous kimonos and obi sashes that were used for special occasions during the Showa era. Some of these use precious materials and weaves that are no longer produced today.
The patterns include auspicious floral designs, birds, gold thread work, embroidery, and Nishijin-ori (a type of Kyoto weaving), all from rare textiles collected from across the country.
Due to the high quality of the raw materials, this was only possible through the remaking of used items.

[About the Sewing]
The bags are sewn in Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture, the largest bag production area in Japan.
They are produced by skilled bag artisans from a company that sells materials necessary for bag making and has its own factory for YKK zippers.
The placement and orientation of the patterns, as well as the front and back of the obi-jime used for the handles, are determined in Tokyo. Then, from the sewing factory, a mold is created by a factory that produces molds, and the fabric is cut and sewn using this mold.
Kimono and obi fabrics have individual differences in embroidery and weaving, as well as variations in thickness and texture, making them very labor-intensive and difficult to sew even for skilled artisans.
In Toyooka, the tradition of willow luggage, made from willow crafts mentioned in the "Kojiki" (Records of Ancient Matters), has been passed down.
The products are manufactured under strict quality control, nurtured by a thousand years of tradition that began with this craft.

[Notes for Purchase]
Regarding the fabric: The kimonos, obi sashes, and obi-jime used are either previously used or were in stock. Therefore, there may be fold creases, small stains, dirt, scratches, or deterioration. While we take care to remove these, some may occasionally remain. We kindly ask for your understanding that these are recycled and upcycled items that have passed through time, are from older eras, and are not new.

Regarding the color: We take the utmost care to ensure accuracy in our listings, but the colors may differ slightly from the actual product due to the monitor settings of your computer or mobile phone. Please be aware of this in advance.

Regarding the size: Although the fabric is cut uniformly with molds and sewn by skilled artisans, kimonos, obi sashes, and obi-jime vary in thickness. Therefore, some size variations may occur, such as the size being slightly smaller for obi sashes with a lot of embroidery or thickness. We appreciate your understanding.

Regarding handling: The kimonos, obi sashes, and obi-jime used are presumed to be silk, but due to their used nature, this is uncertain. (The Consumer Affairs Agency states that there is no obligation to include this information on the product.) Please wash them with silk detergent at your own risk, or consult a cleaning specialist that handles kimonos.
Please be cautious of color fading or transfer due to rain, water, sweat, or friction.
Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, as it can cause discoloration or hardening.
Store in a dark, well-ventilated place away from high humidity and avoid close contact with other items.
Be careful of snagging or friction from nails or sharp objects.
The magnetic clasp may adversely affect watches, IC cards, and medical devices such as pacemakers. Please be aware of this.

After purchase: We generally do not accept returns or exchanges unless the product is defective. In principle, returns or exchanges due to defects are accepted only for unused items within 7 days of arrival.
*Please contact us if any of the following apply:
- Differences in image, such as size or color, due to customer convenience.
- Damage or soiling caused by the customer, more than 7 days after product arrival.
