【About the Fabric】
Made from vibrant kimono and obi worn on celebratory days in the Showa era. Some materials and weaves are rare and have already ceased production. The patterns include auspicious floral motifs, birds, gold thread, embroidery, and Nishijin weaving, collected from all over Japan.

Because of the high-quality raw materials, this product is only possible as a remade, used item.

【About the Sewing】
Manufactured in Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, the largest bag production area. It is produced by skilled bag artisans at a company that supplies materials such as zippers (YKK) and handles.

Pattern placement, orientation, and the front/back of the obi-jime are decided in Tokyo. Then, molds are created at a factory that produces the molds, which are used to cut the fabric and sew the bag.

Kimono and obi fabrics vary in embroidery, weaving, thickness, and texture, making sewing challenging even for experienced artisans. The technique of woven bamboo baskets, originating from the willow craft mentioned in the "Kojiki," has been passed down for over a thousand years in Toyooka. Under strict quality control cultivated through this long tradition, the bags are produced.

About the fabric:
The kimono, obi, and obi-jime used are previously worn or stored items. Therefore, there may be creases, small stains, dirt, damage, or deterioration. While efforts are made to exclude these, some may remain. Please understand that these items are recycled and upcycled from older or non-new materials.

About the color:
We take great care to display accurate colors, but slight differences may occur due to monitor settings on your computer or mobile device. Please understand that the actual product may vary slightly in hue.

About the size:
Although cut uniformly with molds and sewn by skilled artisans, the thickness and embroidery of each kimono and obi differ. Thicker obi or heavily embroidered items may result in slight size variations or a smaller fit. Please understand this in advance.

The kimono, obi, and obi-jime are presumed to be silk, but since they are used, this cannot be guaranteed. (The Consumer Affairs Agency states that there is no obligation to specify this on the product.) Please wash with a silk-specific detergent or consult a professional kimono cleaner.
