About the Fabric:The fabric is made from vibrant kimono and obi materials used on celebratory days in the Showa era. Some of these are rare textiles and weaves that are no longer in production. The patterns include auspicious floral motifs, birds, gold thread embroidery, and Nishijin weaving, collected from all over Japan. Because the raw materials are high-quality, this remade product is only possible through recycling and upcycling.
About the Sewing:Manufactured in Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, the largest bag production area in the country. It is produced by experienced bag artisans at companies that sell materials necessary for bags and own YKK zippers. Pattern placement, orientation, and the front/back of the obi belt are decided in Tokyo. Subsequently, molds are created at a factory that produces molds for cutting the fabric, which is then cut and sewn accordingly.
Kimono and obi fabrics feature embroidery and weaving, each with different thicknesses and textures, making sewing challenging even for skilled artisans. The traditional craft of Yagi basketry, originating from the "Kago" woven from willow branches mentioned in the "Kojiki," has been passed down for over a thousand years in Toyooka. Under strict quality control developed through this long tradition, the products are made.
Precautions for Purchase:Fabric: The kimono, obi, and obi cords used are previously worn or stored items. As a result, there may be creases, small stains, dirt, scratches, or deterioration. While efforts are made to remove these, some may remain. Please understand that this product is made by recycling and upcycling older or used materials.

Size: Although cut uniformly with molds and sewn by skilled artisans, the thickness and embroidery of each kimono and obi vary, which may cause slight size discrepancies, especially with heavily embroidered or thick obi. We appreciate your understanding.
Handling:The kimono, obi, and obi cords are likely made of silk, but since they are used, this cannot be guaranteed. (The Consumer Affairs Agency states that there is no obligation to include such details on the product.) Please wash with a silk-specific detergent or consult a professional kimono cleaner.
Be cautious of color bleeding or transfer caused by water, sweat, friction, or rain. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight to prevent discoloration or hardening. Store in a well-ventilated, dark place, away from other items, and avoid contact with nails or sharp objects that could cause snags or scratches.
