This mini tote bag is made from upcycled obi. The handle uses obi-jime (obi cord), matching the color and atmosphere of the bag. The outer back side of the fabric uses the same obi fabric as the exterior. Inside, there is a small magnetic button for closure. About the Fabric:The fabric features vibrant kimono and obi patterns used on special days in the Showa era. Some materials and weaves are rare and have already ceased production. The patterns include auspicious floral motifs, birds, gold thread embroidery, and Nishijin weaving, collected from all over Japan. Due to the high quality of the materials, this product is only possible because it is a remade, upcycled item.
About the Sewing:Manufactured in Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, the largest bag production area in the country. The materials necessary for bags are sold by companies that also produce zippers (YKK) in their own factories, and skilled bag artisans handle the production. The pattern placement, orientation, and the front/back of the obi-jime handle are decided in Tokyo. Subsequently, molds are created in a factory that produces them, and fabric is cut and sewn using these molds. Kimono and obi fabrics vary in embroidery, weave, thickness, and texture, making sewing challenging even for experienced artisans. In Toyooka, the tradition of woven bamboo baskets, called "kago," originating from the willow craft mentioned in the Kojiki, has been passed down for over a thousand years. Under strict quality control cultivated through this long-standing tradition, the products are made.
Notes for Purchase:Fabric: The kimono, obi, and obi-jime used are previously worn or stored items. Therefore, they may have creases, small stains, dirt, damage, or deterioration. While efforts are made to exclude these, some may remain. Please understand that these items are recycled and upcycled from older or non-new materials.

Handling:The kimono, obi, and obi-jime are presumed to be silk, but since they are used, this cannot be guaranteed. (The Consumer Affairs Agency states there is no obligation to specify this on the product.) Please wash with a silk-specific detergent or consult a professional kimono cleaning service. Be cautious of color bleeding or transfer caused by water, sweat, friction, or rain. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight to prevent discoloration or hardening. Store in a well-ventilated, dark place, away from other items. Be careful to avoid snagging or friction from nails or protrusions. The magnetic clasp may affect watches, IC cards, pacemakers, or other medical devices; please handle with care.
After Purchase:Except for cases of product defects, we generally do not accept returns or exchanges. Returns or exchanges due to defects must be made within 7 days of receipt and the item must be unused.
