This product is a set of hanging scrolls for the principal image and attendant images of the Rinzai sect, and a scroll stand to hang them on.
The hanging scroll Jōshingane is a Japanese-made hanging scroll.
It is made by pasting paper with a Buddhist image called the main text onto thick paper, and then decorating the surrounding area with red and purple cloth. It is completed by attaching metal fittings to the wooden scroll at the bottom. Each one is handmade in Kyoto.
The principal image, Shakyamuni Buddha, is hung and enshrined in the center of the upper tier of the Buddhist altar.
Monju Bosatsu (right) is the Buddha of wisdom (three people gathered can come up with Monju's wisdom) and is hung and enshrined on the upper tier of the Buddhist altar, towards the right.
Fugen Bosatsu (left) is the Buddha who governs reason and compassion, and is hung and enshrined on the upper tier of the Buddhist altar, towards the left.
