This is a jumbo slinky (jumbo spring) made of plastic with a large diameter.

The recommended age is 6 years and older due to the large diameter which may be difficult for very young children to hold, and the string-like material (formed into coils) which could pose a strangulation hazard if it wraps around the neck when extended. Please be very careful to ensure that young children do not handle it unsupervised.
