Through energetic live performances and collaborations with overseas artists, they have further refined and upgraded the innovative approach shown in their major work '13月' (13th Month). Now, they present a band sound that meets global standards!
Since their formation in 2021, they have been active mainly in Tokyo's live scene, quickly gaining attention in the emo and altana live house scenes. In 2022, they made waves with the release of 'SAKANA e.p.', their appearance at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL ’22 “ROOKIE A GO-GO,” and the worldwide release (sold out immediately) of the compilation record 'Anthology' from UK label Dog Knights, resonating their name across various places.
Furthermore, in 2023, they appeared at major circuits such as SYNCHRONICITY and MINAMI WHEEL, collaborated with many overseas artists such as Gestalt Otome (Taiwan), Grrrl Gang (Indohesia), Pswingset (US), and deathcrash (UK), and released their major work '13月', showing new directions as a band, expanding their activities.
Their long-awaited full album, which has steadily risen on stage with the passage of time, is finally scheduled for release in March 2024.
This new work includes the 8-minute long single '13月', which hints at a new band approach with a sense of fragility and unwavering strength, and also features new songs that showcase the band’s new stage moving forward. Additionally, it will include re-recordings of songs from their debut 'downt' such as '111511', 'mizu ni naru', and 'AM4:50', which have already become staples in live performances. Through energetic live activities throughout 2023 and collaborations with numerous overseas artists, downt has rapidly increased its presence in the scene.
With their first full-length album, they are ready to make a bold entry into the music scenes of Japan and the world!
