【STORY】
I want to know. What does running mean—
Kansei University senior Kiyose Haiji, in the chilly March, encounters Kakeru Kurahara, who runs through the night with an extraordinary "run," and half-forcibly has him live in the boarding house Aotake-so.
Haiji had "dreams and ambitions." A setback from a high school injury.
But he wants to run again, to participate in the highest level ekiden race, Hakone Ekiden, and show his pursuit of running. To turn this "dream and ambition" into "reality," he only has one year left. And now, a powerful leader has appeared before him. Aotake-so was a haven for male students blessed with unique talents. Including Haiji, who cooks for the dorm residents, 25-year-old heavy smoker senior Nikochan (Akihiro Hirata), twin brothers George (Jiro Jō) and Jota (Taro Jō), international student Musa (Musa Kamara), prodigy with a rural family background (Takahashi Sugiyama), music enthusiast Yuki (Yukihiko Iwakura) who has passed the bar exam, quiz show fan King (Yohei Sakaguchi), and prince who dedicates all his money and time to manga (Akane Kashiwazaki)... These diverse characters were living together without knowing that Aotake-so was actually the "Kansei University Track and Field Club Training Center." Haiji intimidates, encourages, and motivates them to challenge "Hakone."
Just ten people. Amidst the obstacles of Kurahara’s complex personality and past, the physical and mental limits of the residents, can they reach the summit of "that mountain"—?
