【STORY】
I want to know. What does running mean?
Kansei University senior Haiji Kiyose, in the chilly March, encounters Hashiru Kurahara, who runs through the night with exceptional "running" skills, and half-forcibly makes him live in the Aotake-so (commonly called Aotake).
Haiji has "dreams and ambitions." He was disheartened by an injury in high school.
But he wants to run again, to participate in the prestigious Hakone Ekiden relay race, and to show his pursuit of running. To turn this "dream and ambition" into "reality," he only has one year left. And now, a powerful motivator has appeared before him. Aotake-so is a haven for male students with unique talents. Including Haiji, who cooks for the dorm residents, 25-year-old heavy smoker senior Nikochan (Akihiro Hirata), twin brothers George (Jiro Jō) and Jota (Taro Jō), international student Musa (Musa Kamara), prodigy with family in a remote mountain village (Takahashi Sugiyama), music enthusiast Yuki (Yukihiko Iwakura) who has passed the bar exam, quiz show fan King (Yohei Sakaguchi), and the prince who dedicates all his money and time to manga (Akane Kashiwazaki)... These colorful characters live together unaware that Aotake-so is actually the "Kansei University Track and Field Club Training Center."
Haiji intimidates, encourages, and motivates them to challenge "Hakone."
Just ten people. Amidst the obstacles of Kurahara's complex personality and past, the physical and mental limits of the residents, and various barriers, will they be able to reach the summit of "that mountain"?
