The story follows a girl named Mio, who was raised under the oppression of her stepmothers, and her encounter with the solitary elite soldier Kiyoka. Despite their awkwardness, they come to trust and cherish each other, discovering the joy of living—an elegant Japanese Cinderella story that begins with a political marriage!
